Ellen Fruchtman

Fruchtman Marketing
President
Considered the Queen Bee of Fruchtman Marketing, Ellen began her so-called illustrious career 35 years ago after graduating Boston University’s School of Public Communication with a degree in Television and Film. Her true desire in 1976? To be a sitcom writer. Her first job, however, was as a production assistant at WBZ-TV in Boston where she was mentored by Vin Di Bona (creator of America’s Funniest Videos) — whom she credits with teaching her the ropes in television production. She then went on to be a producer for Arthur and Company, a syndicated children’s program that aired on all Post Newsweek stations. She met and fell in love with Michael Fruchtman — asked him to marry her — and moved to Toledo, Ohio. Her sitcom dreams were apparently over. Ellen went on to produce a local television talk show and then went on to produce the two most important projects of her life: her two daughters.Longing to do something more creative and entrepreneurial, Ellen’s husband suggested she start her own advertising agency and purchased her a book called "How to Start Your Own Advertising Agency" for $29.95. With a massive start-up loan of $750, she began what is now known as Fruchtman Marketing in 1981. Today she continues to lead new business development, as well as oversee all retail jeweler accounts. Ellen also meddles in everything else at the company. She has served on the board of Women’s American Ort, March of Dimes, The Toledo Repertoire Theater, Better Business Bureau, and was past President of the Advertising Club of Toledo. Her small claim to fame is appearing on college-friend Howard Stern’s radio show. She still contends being at Woodstock, sitting first row at the Rolling Stone’s Gimme Shelter Tour at Madison Square Garden (circa 1969) and seeing the last performance of The Who’s Tommy were far cooler.Ellen is most proud of her children, their spouses, her happy marriage, and two insanely adorable grandchildren. One day she hopes to retire and write some pretty funny scripts.
